I've been eyeing a new-to-me SUV for a while, something reliable like a Toyota RAV4 or a Honda CR-V, but dealership prices were just out of my comfort zone. I stumbled upon philscars.com and decided to take the plunge into the auction world. I was a bit skeptical about buying a car sight-unseen, especially since I'm in Louisiana and they're in Houston, Texas, but the detailed multi-point inspection reports on their site gave me some confidence. I ended up winning a bid on a 2018 Nissan Rogue for $16,500 – a solid deal compared to what I was seeing elsewhere. Immediately after winning, a sales agent reached out, which was a huge relief. They walked me through the deposit process (I put down 20%, which was about $3,300, applied directly to the purchase price) and explained how the delivery would work. The agent was super responsive, answering all my questions about cross-state transport. The car arrived on an open carrier about a week later, and honestly, the delivery guy was great. The real test was the 10-day inspection period. The listing description and inspection report were pretty accurate, which was awesome. I took it to my mechanic, and he confirmed everything looked good. It's such a relief to know that if something major had been off, I could have returned it. Getting the title and registration sorted was a breeze too, with the agent providing clear instructions for my state's DMV. Overall, a surprisingly smooth process for a first-time auction buyer. Definitely recommend checking them out if you're looking for a good deal on a used car or truck.
